About me

Hajimemashite

It means, “Hello, we are meeting for the first time.”

I’m Aarti Barve, a Japanese tutor. Teaching the Japanese language at the University of Mumbai & then being invited by the Govt of Japan to teach English in public schools under Japan Exchange & Teaching Program (JET program) enriched my experience in teaching in both cultures. Awards and merit won by my students in an inter-school contest held at prefecture-level was the icing on the cake.

I love traveling and exploring new places and experimenting with new things. In my years as a solo traveler in Japan, I’ve learned pottery in Bizen, scuba diving in Kagoshima, Sunaburo in Ibusuki. My travel from Hokkaido to Okinawa introduced me to different aspects of the culture of Japan, met amazing people. My love for travel also took me to different countries like China, Korea, and Egypt.

I’m a passionate cook and was also featured in 2 episodes of a cookery show on TV & radio for my innovative dishes.

I also teach English, Hindi, and Marathi, especially to Japanese.

今私は、日本人に英語とマラティ語とヒンディー語を教えています。 日本語の基本文構造はマラティ語やヒンディー語に似ています。 また、クラスでお会いするのを楽しみにしています。

Presently, I prepare students for the Japanese Language Proficiency test, short of JLPT which is conducted by the Govt of Japan. I teach my lessons online with fun and excellence.
