I had joined Aarti ma'am's class to learn Japanese from scratch and was a student of her online classes. After joining in June 2019, on 1 Dec 2019, I was well prepared to give the JLPT N5 exam and clear it with 87.4 percentile. Right in the start, all the required study materials (Minna no Nihongo) were provided and the regular classes involved going through the chapters and practicing exercises online with her. The classes had a direct and easy-going one-to-one interaction which made clearing doubts an easy and comfortable process. The class timing was very flexible and worked well for me (as a working individual) to schedule them over the weekends/holidays. All in all, my fears of learning a language being a boring process were proven wrong. It was an enjoyable learning process and I thank Aarti ma'am for making it so.

Aarti is a very dear friend of mine. We were co-workers in Japan. Her lessons were exciting which introduced India's culture and customs. She is a student-oriented, eager to learn, hard-working, friendly teacher with a curious mindset. Her bright smile is enchanting. She is good at cooking and treated me to homemade Indian food. I requested my friend who owns a restaurant to cook Japanese vegetarian food for us. We enjoyed it very much. During her stay in Japan, she wore a kimono and learned Japanese culture. Aarti is a fabulous teacher and even though these are virtual classes as we are based out of Gurgaon, they are highly interactive.
Aarti uses a lot of games, videos, and fun ways to make the class interactive.
There are regular assignments. She regularly follows up with me to check Prisha's progress and is easy to connect with.

I used to self-study Japanese for fun when I was younger, but studying the language with Aarti Barve took it to another level and allowed me to hone my skills. I gave the JLPT twice under her guidance, and got a 100% in N5, and performed quite well in N4 as well. Taking classes with her gave me a sense of direction and also gave me access to plenty of resources that I still refer to now, so many years later. For example, I have always struggled with memorizing Kanji, but doing them with her in an organized and structured way made them much easier, and now they’re my favorite aspect of the language. This experience provided a foundation not only for my journey with Japanese but, as a language and linguistics major, language-learning in general!
